In case you needed more proof that Kelly Osbourne is on drugs.
This is just ridiculous. Yeah, you're JUST LIKE Kylie. I think I just heard the entire West End groan. Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, you have none of the delicious divaness that is Kylie. When you try sexy, you just come off vulgar and no amount of studying Kylie's videos is going to change that. I really hope that statement was taken out of context and was actually said with irony.

Hey Lady, Back Away From the Stroller
Yesterday Liam and I ventured out of the house to take back some library books. On our way we were stopped by an older lady who asked me if she could "see the baby." Now, my first reaction was, "You can see the baby just fine where you are." But I thought that was a little rude, so I said sure and followed up with, "Don't touch him," as I saw her hand going to touch his.
I don't understand why a lot of mothers have a problem telling people not to touch their baby. For all I know your private passion is playing with raw sewage, how do I know if you washed your hands after. I think it is a reasonable request of a stranger, if someone is offended they can just push off.
Anyway, this lady starts bending over the stroller and I start thinking, "Jesus lady, you trying to get in there, can't you see it's already full?" I was about to tell her to back off when Liam stepped in for me. He let go with the most piercing frightened sounding scream causing the lady to immediately back off and apologize. Ha ha, remember that the next time you barge right into someone's personal space! He's a baby, but he's still got limits.
It took me a while to calm Liam down after that, but it serves me right for making eye contact. I've lived in the city long enough to know better.

Red Means STOP!
We went to New West today to buy a second hand high chair and some idiot totally blew a red light and nicked our front bumper. He was going REALLY fast and if Steve hadn't hit the breaks it would have been a lot worse - I don't want to think about it cause it probably would have killed me and Liam as we were both on the passenger side and going straight through the intersection when he ran the red and went straight through the intersection perpendicular to us. Jack@$$ didn't even stop, so now we have to deal with proving a hit and run with ICBC and the car co-op. Though I'd rather us be okay and have to deal with the hit and run than be in the hospital and have his insurance info. What gets me is we were the third car through the intersection went he blew right through it. How could he not have seen the two cars in front of us or us or the freakin' RED LIGHT? I'm so glad we don't drive that often, it's just not safe these days.
And then, on our way home, we saw three other drivers run red lights! For the love of god, pay attention people. Luckily there were no accidents involved with these, but for crying out loud, four red light runners in one trip. You gotta wonder how some people got their license.
Oh yeah, and Dear Internet, if you happened to be at 6th and Royal in New West at 10:30 ish this morning and saw it, let me know ;) Could happen, right?

Twinkle Twinkle EFG
It's funny how your perspective on things changes when you have a kid. I never really thought about nursery rhymes or children's songs before Liam cam along, but now I find myself singing them all the time and struggling to remember the lyrics to songs from my own childhood. The internet has been quite the lifesaver in this regard. This site has come to my rescue when mid-song I find myself humming cause I have no idea what the words are. I think that those brain cells may have been victim to my partying days :) Some songs you simply just can't forget, like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and the Alphabet Song. As luck would have it if you know the tune to one, you know both cause the tune is the same! I can't believe that at 33 years old I finally realize that they are the same music with different lyrics. Now I like to mix them up when I'm singing them. Poor Liam, I'm already setting him up to question authority when he starts daycare.

Non-Reactive Canine
Conversation overheard today while walking to the library...
"My brother has a hypo-allergenic dog."
"What is that?"
What indeed.

Geek Angst
I read comics. Some people will be surprised by that. Marvel comics and mostly the Ultimate Universe. All my female friends are like, "huh, what the hell is she talking about?" If you need an explanation girls, let me know. Anyway, I was thinking - and I'm sure that this is obvious to all you comic veterans out there - the whole super hero, alter-ego thing is kind of a geek fantasy, isn't it? The kinda geeky regular Joe alter-ego (Peter Parker for example) that everyone sees every day is boring, uninteresting, but underneath lurks the exciting, sexy super hero (Spiderman - I really don't have a Spiderman thing, it's just an example). So I guess it makes sense that there is a stereotype of both the writers and readers of comics as kinda geeky - the whole theme is totally speaking to them. And it also gives them an excuse for distancing themselves from women. Relationships for super heroes are somewhat taboo because they weaken the character, through sexual distraction and having to worry that if the woman knows about the super, they are in danger which ends up also being a distraction - better to avoid relationships altogether and add tortured loner to the super hero persona. The geek can imagine themselves having to keep their distance for noble reasons and deny their actual fear of the opposite sex. How about you, what's you favourite comic to real life parallel? Discuss :)

Flipper Attacks!
Am I the only one who finds this funny? OMG! Weapons are one thing, but intelligent weapons with their own will? What were they thinking?
